All Points West Malt and Grain Pot Still Whiskey

When you think of great whiskey-producing areas, downtown Newark, N.J., might not immediately come to mind. However, All Points West, named after the fact that train passengers had to pass through Newark's Ironbound neighborhood to travel to "all points west," has been quietly producing solid rye whiskey for years. They have recently started winning international awards for their blended malt whiskeys.

The real attention grabber has been their Malt and Grain Pot Still Whiskey. This should not be confused with their Grain and Malt Pot Still Whiskey, which also tastes good but more like an Irish whiskey. The Malt and Grain Pot Still Whiskey offers typical bourbon-esque flavors plus sunflower seeds, apple brandy, and caramel pudding.
