Stranahan’s Sherry Cask Single Malt Whiskey

Stranahan’s Sherry Cask Single Malt Whiskey is a unique American single malt that stands out in the world of whiskey. This whiskey starts its life as a 4-year-old American Single malt, which then gets transferred to 500-liter Oloroso Sherry Barrels for cask finishing. These barrels, procured from the Andalusia region of southern Spain, have been aging wine for over 40 years, soaking a depth of flavor into the ancient oak staves.

The result is a whiskey that might put any “sherry bomb” Scotch to shame. The aroma is reminiscent of warm maple syrup poured onto buttered blueberry pancakes, delivering strong sherry aromas immediately out of the glass. The palate, however, is more diverse and well balanced in its layers. It offers a symphony of flavors including cherries, apricots, peaches and cream, figs, honey, caramel, and of course, more sherry.
