Torabhaig Allt Gleann 12 Year Old

Torabhaig, the first distillery to be built on the Isle of Skye in 190 years, has proven that age is just a number when it comes to creating a delicious single malt Scotch. Their second offering, Allt Gleann, is a testament to this. Distilled in 2018 from two heavily peated malted barley varieties, it was then aged in both first-fill and reused barrels and bottled in small 30-cask batches.

Allt Gleann is a bold, peaty single malt that still carries a diverse range of fruity, maritime, and mineral flavors. The first sniff gives a hint of salty ocean air with a whiff of smoke, followed by vanilla wafers, lemon zest, nutmeg, and copper penny. On the tongue, the surf-and-turf combo works even better, with cedar-plank smoked salmon and minerally oyster brine layered with pepper, pears, soft raisins, caramel, and driftwood smoke.
